Colour Theory -
Next Start Date: Janurary 2017
This is a 10 week colour theory class focusing on colour mixing, theory, understanding and play with acrylic paints. The course is designed for beginners in the world of colour and paint mixing. The participants will begin with an in-depth information session on the topic of colour and light, along with a simple introduction to the colour wheel. From there, the students will engage further into the theory of colour mixing, learning each of the three fundamental colour wheels, and playing with the creation of form based on each colour wheel. After mastering the colours and shades, participants will create monochromatic paintings. From here, the final few weeks will be spent on the completion of a final painting through the integration of the colour theories that have been mastered. The colour wheels and monochromatic paintings created during the course will serve as reference for years to come. From start to finish, this Colour Theory course will turn any beginner into a Master of colour!
There will be some basic materials supplied but it is recommended that the participants invest in their own materials for working outside of class. The material list will be provided and thoroughly explained on week one. The final hour of week ten is always our mini vernissage, discussion and party!

Painting and Drawing
The Painting and Drawing Lessons are designed with the beginner in mind. The classes will begin with a focus on the basics of drawing and tonal understanding and will evolve into an exploration of colour mixing and painting theory. Each class will consist of a basic lesson on theory that will then be applied to a final drawing of the students choosing.
Experimental
The Experimental Class at the Living Art room is based on the idea that everyone is an artist. This class is designed to allow each student to explore their own creativity while having access to a wide range of media. No experience is required for participation in an Experimental class. The students will begin with a few quick exercises to 'loosen up' following which they will be encouraged to create a final piece of art work from each class using any mediums. Instruction will be given individually for each project.
If you do have some experience but are looking for a little one on one help with your art, or more in depth instruction, you can find it also, at The Living Art Room.
